# Getting started

To start using the GenLogs API, follow these steps:

**1. Get Your API key and Credentials**

Genlogs Customer success team members will set up your account and will share with you an API key and user/password credentials.

Once you get the API and credentials, you would be able to make a HTTP request to the Create Token endpoint, from it you will get a ***token***.

When the token is generated you can proceed to call carrier or shipper endpoints sending both, the API ***key*** and the API ***token***.
